OUR STORY

Equip for Multiplication (EqX)

EqX is a mission-driven Christian ministry that trains  ordinary believers to become effective disciple makers and church planters.

Founded by experience, called missionary Bob Palencia, the organization operates with a "catalytic" approach providing the initial tools and training needed to spark self-sustaining, rapidly multiplying spiritual movements.

Core Mission and Principles

EqX focuses on reaching communities and establishing Houses of Peace - small, local communities of believers, with the end goal of planting a church. EqX strategy is built on several key concepts:

  • The EqX-222 Principle: Based on 2 Timothy 2:2, this principle emphasizes a multi-generational approach to discipleship to the fourth generation: those who are trained go on to train others, with each subsequent generation continuing to pass along what they have learned.

  • Reproducible Tools: EqX uses simple, biblical and reproducing methods that are easy to learn and pass on:

  • The 411 Method: A simple training tool to help people know why they share their faith, who to share with, what to say, and when to do it (developed by trainers Curtis Sergeant, Jeff Sundell and others using "No Place Left" strategies).

  • Discovery Bible Studies (DBS): Group study of scripture with focus on immediate sharing.

  • The 3/3s Pattern: Look Back, Look Up, Look Forward; builds accountability and continuous growth in discipleship.

Geographic Impact

Based in the U.S.A., EqX has a significant presence in Colombia, where it mobilizes trainers, regardless of age, through workshops and outreach to empower local believers to advance the Gospel by planting Houses of Peace in their own communities.

“And he said, ‘The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how. The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come’ ”.

Mark 4:26-29
